Now, when u want to flash that card. Hi It does have a flashable bios. The card u have is the same card i bought a couple days back. The manual page on the site doesn’t seem to work. I will have a look, but no promises. I don’t know WHY there is a such a difference between read and write speed, since read must also drop down into DOS; maybe when writing it does an extra step like flush some hardware buffer or something. In case you want the non-Raid, then have latest non-Raid drivers ready in order to install them after a reboot.

I am just guessing that the flash chip is not supported with the Silicon Image Utility, I am still waiting for a reply from the Masscool support. Later in this thread I have the necessary files attached. Or just irritates you in your situation.
I will report back. Make sure u have attached any sli3512 drive… U need siljcon go to device manager and select the properties of that specific silicon chipset and every detail will be displayed.

When i choose retry the message keeps returning leaving me no sip3512 choice then to cancel. Both drives are sata2 but I jumpered them as sata1. Once Windows is up, it sees the card, and it still works. Tweek the URL you gave me and I got the drivers!: Hi You are welcome. Have you a Raid or a non-Raid card?
If its onboard sata silicon then use xxxx. It could be that this particular card does not have a flashable BIOS. Got a SS7 motherboard on my test bench, I might check it out tomorrow.
I had to use a different PC to flash it, then the card was working in the k again. Then use the Have Disk option and point it to the disk supplied with the card and the sindows windows driver for Silicon Image Sil When rebooting, where the option rom would usually run the computer hangs. Blocks the BIOS completely, again can’t find a way to skip the option rom. Imave, flash bios 1st.
I will have a look, but no promises. So I erased my flash bios.

The problem is the browse button is greyed out and the chip type is sll3512 as unknown. Will have to try this out for sure. You can use the Bios from SiI. If it woud help u… Iam currently using 4.
I may be doing something stupid, with this utility, not to sure. I can swap CF cards quite easily, and the whole real point of the sata ssd was 1 to see if it would work and 2 no more spinning PATA drives to fail. Return to General Old Hardware. And everything went smooth, even twice in sil3521 row when burning Dual layer media aswell as single media.

Connect a working drive to the controller and install latest drivers you need the Raid version at the moment.
